Yesterday was the regional steel bridge competition. It was held at University of Delaware this year, which was nice since it’s only about an hours drive. Tommy didn’t do to much on bridge this year mostly for lack of time, but as vice president of ASCE he was present. He mostly monitored the weight testing being done on the other bridges. It’s always lots of fun to watch, even though I don’t really understand too much of what is going on and the math and whatnot behind it. Here is a video from last year showing how the bridge is constructed.
